With her rare ability to breathe fire, Jacinda is special even among the draki—the descendants of dragons who can shift between human and dragon forms. But when Jacinda’s rebelliousness leads her family to flee into the human world, she struggles to adapt, even as her draki spirit fades. The one thing that revives it is Will, whose family hunts her kind. Jacinda can’t resist getting closer to him, even though she knows she’s risking not only her life but the draki’s most closely guarded secret.
The fact that this book has already gotten movie rights kinda speaks for itself. Jordan does a great job of pulling the reader in right away and getting you invested in the story. It’s a new take on fantasy, being as they are dragons, and nice to get away from werewolves and vampires as the love interests. I enjoyed the stories behind the draki and would like to know more about them eventually.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and finding out what happens with Jacinda and Will.
